What are the properties of PE labels?

Polyethylene is an organic and thermoplastic plastic that is far more compatible with the environment and nature than other label materials. Its chemical structure is very similar to that of wood and plant fibres, making it comparable to conventional paper. Thus, polyethylene combines the properties of normal paper with those of other plastics and offers you an environmentally compatible labelling option for various areas.

Labels made of polyethylene are also food-compatible and can be optimally used for food labelling. The material contains no plasticisers, halogens, silicones or other toxic substances and is therefore a toxicologically safe alternative to other label materials. With its smudge-, scratch- and moisture-resistant surface, polyethylene also provides you with convincing durability.

Depending on the adhesive, polyethylene labels can be permanently adhesive or removable. Both variants meet the requirements of the FDA 175.105 directive and the EN 71-3 toy standard and are certified according to RoHS and REACH.

What are polyethylene labels used for?

Polyethylene labels are often found in the food industry in particular, where they provide support with toxicologically safe labelling. The labels can be brought into indirect contact with food without any problems and may even touch dry and non-greasy food directly. Furthermore, labels made of polyethylene are often used as product labels on hygiene articles or on toys.

Besides such special applications, polyethylene labels can also be used for other applications. For example, they can be used as address labels and provide you with moisture-resistant shipping identification. But they can also be used as barcode labels in various areas without hesitation.
